Discernment Novena
Discerning the will of God through prayer.
The key to unlocking the will of God.
Capital Campaign Prayer
The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thine intercession
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins,
my mother; to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in they mercy
hear and answer me.
Amen.

Dear Saint John Paul ll Family,
Thank you for loving our Lord! Our hope is that this nine day novena will open your heart to discern God’s will for your participation in the Open Wide the Doors to Christ capital campaign.
Please spend a few minutes each day reading the prayers, scripture passages, and parishioners’ personal reflections as you consider how your family may make a gift to the campaign. At the end of these nine days, we ask that you complete your commitment card and return it to the parish office or drop it off at Mass on Sunday.
Your commitment to Open Wide the Doors to Christ capital campaign is important to our parish’s future. Our building project can only move forward when we’ve obtained commitments from our parishioners to cover 100% of the total cost of the parish hall for phase one (approximately $10 million).
The decisions we make today will impact our parish family now and for generations to come. We couldn’t be more excited than to be working together to fulfill Christ’s mission in southern Johnson County!

Our God is the God of relationship. He created us for relationship. He sent his only son to redeem us, and through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have become adopted sons and daughters in the intimacy of God’s family. When we come together to celebrate the Mass as a JPII parish community, we are really brothers and sisters coming to Sunday dinner at our Father’s house. Ralph & Jan
“Do not be afraid.
Open, I say open wide
the doors for Christ.”
- Saint John Paul II
On October 22, 1978, Pope John Paul II began his pontificate with these words.
This call to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ is as urgent and necessary today
as it was over forty years ago.
It offers us an opportunity to remind ourselves, and others
about the witness of Saint John Paul II's life and message.
The witness of the life of this great man,
and the words he spoke in his many homilies, speeches,
and encyclicals are more relevant today than ever.
St. John Paul II's life provides for us a
wonderful example of someone who
truly mirrored Christ, and at the same time,
brought Christ to us.
