Help at Mass
The celebration of the Holy Mass is a beautiful combination of both internal & external participation- internally engaging our minds & hearts in prayer, externally engaging our bodies in gestures & actions, together lifting our bodies & souls in liturgical prayer.
Outside of the normal congregation external participation, all parishioners are invited to be ministers of different parts of Mass.

Greeters- Greeters extend the welcome of Christ to all who join us at Mass. All individuals and families are invited to be Greeters. To become involved in this ministry, please contact the office at office@jp2kc.org.
Ushers- Ushers play in key role in helping our Mass to run smoothly and maintain a reverant atmosphere. To become involved in this ministry, please contact Peter Majerle at peter.majerle@sbcglobal.net.
Altar Servers- Altar Serving is a rewarding way for our youth to contribute at Mass. This ministry is open to any children, ages 5th grade - high school, who have received sacrament of First Communion. Training is provided prior to serving. We ask that children are newly trained at our parish, regardless of if they have been trained at another parish. Please check the Bulletin for upcoming training dates. Once trained, Altar Servers are scheduled on a rotating basis.
Readers- Readers proclaim the Word of God to the congregation. This ministry is open to all ages 16 years & up, who have received the Sacrament of First Communion. Training is provided prior to serving. We ask that all Readers are newly trained at our parish, regardless of if they have been trained at another parish. Please check the Bulletin for upcoming training dates. Once trained, Readers are scheduled on a rotating basis.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion- Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) have the privilege of distributing the Body & Blood of Christ. This ministry is open to all ages 16 years & up, who have received the Sacraments of First Communion & Confirmation, and if married, were married or convalidated in the Catholic Church. Training is provided prior to serving. We ask that all EMHCs are newly trained at our parish, regardless of if they have been trained at another parish.
