UNITE Faith Formation FAQ
The vision for our Unite Faith Formation gatherings is to provide a space for our entire community to encounter and follow Christ. This model of Religious Education seeks to engage the whole family of faith at once and puts the emphasis on the home and the role of the domestic church in our formation as Catholics.
-
Who is UNITE Faith Formation for?
These sessions are for everyone, no matter what age or life situation!
-
Why should I attend?
We have been called to be authentic witnesses for Christ in all areas of our lives. In order to do that, we must be in a relationship with Him! These sessions help us to grow in our knowledge and love of our Lord, so that we can more effectively share His love with our community.
-
How much does the program cost?
It is FREE! No registration necessary.
-
What is the format of these sessions?
We will enjoy a meal together, followed by a presentation for all ages. The climax of all of our sessions is a time of adoration before Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, where we will have the opportunity to continually rededicate ourselves to Him as His disciples. We will also provide a handout like this one to help you continue faith formation in the home between the monthly sessions. Childcare is provided for kids 5 years old and younger!
-
Will there still be School of Religion for my kids?
Our Parish Faith Formation sessions are in place of the traditional model of Religious Education for children. The Church teaches that the domestic church (the family) is the primary School of Religion and that parents are the first witnesses of the faith to their children. Our Parish Faith Formation sessions are designed to support and strengthen this witness in the home.
-
I have a child in Catholic School – should we attend these sessions?
Yes! These sessions are for everyone, no matter what school they are connected with.
-
I have a child in Sacrament Preparation – should we attend these sessions?
Yes! These sessions are the foundation of everything else we do in Faith Formation, including Sacrament Preparation.
-
What if I can’t come to the sessions?
We will be recording all of our sessions, so you can watch at home!
